Our colleague Marin Franetović, Ph.D., participated in the 15th Central European Congress on Concrete Engineering, held in Vodice, Croatia, from 5 to 7 October 2026, where he delivered a presentation on the Otočac small hydropower plant project.

The paper, “Small hydropower plant Otočac project”, co-authored with colleagues Nina Serdarević, Alen Hadžimujić and Dalibor Tomić, presented the technical solutions and main civil engineering structures of the plant, built on a branch of the existing Lika-Gacka channel. With a total installed capacity of 1.5 MW and an expected annual output of more than 7 GWh, SHPP Otočac demonstrates how existing infrastructure can be used to harness hydropower potential.
